Our Clear Multiwall Polycarbonate Roofing Sheets are a light weight, impact resistant plastic sheet which provide excellent light transmission. It has 30 times stronger than standard acrylic sheet and over 250 times the impact strength of glass. The product is available in a wide range of thickness and sheet sizes and is the ideal material for outdoor projects such as pergolas, canopies, car ports, covered walkways and skylights.

Cutting

Multiwall Roofing sheets can be easily cut and will not crack or shatter. When cutting parallel to the flutes a sharp knife can be used but when cutting across the flutes a fine toothed saw is required. For cutting curves use a fine toothed jig saw.

Thermal Expansion & Fixing

Important - polycarbonate sheet will expand in the heat and contract in the cold.
When installing multiwall roofing sheet it is important to allow a sufficient expansion gap at the top end of the sheet. When drilling fixing holes an expansion allowance of 3mm around all fixings is required. Fixings must not be overtightened, again this allows the natural movement of the sheet and will avoid unnecessary damage to the sheet.

Cleaning

Multiwall roof sheets can be easily and quickly washed with luke warm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Do not use brushes or sharp objects and avoid any abrasives or cleaners of high alkaline nature. It is generally advisable in all instances to test any cleaner on a sample piece of the multiwall sheet first and it should also be remembered that cleaners and solvents which state that they are suitable for cleaning polycarbonate may not be safe for use on the UV protective surface of the panels.
